Microsoft’s Metaverse world
Microsoft is one of the Big Tech in the entire world. The company has already launched its fully-featured AR Headset in 2016, sadly the device is still in the development phase. To wear it on a regular basis consumers might have to still wait for a while.
Microsoft introduced its metaverse in its own way. As the world has taken the next step in work from home, Microsoft Mesh( Metaverse ) focuses on people to connect, feel and experience the presence in the 3D world. The company mentioned three main features:
- Feel Presence
- Experience together
- Connect from anywhere
Let’s get started with Microsoft Mesh
Microsoft experts believe that when the real world is blended with the virtual world, the mixed reality can be groundbreaking to start better teamwork from anywhere in the world. The demand for virtual reality is growing exponentially since the pandemic. People want to work from home and at the same time, they want to feel teamwork. Microsoft promises the user, the company will be able to provide both “work from home” and achieve productive teamwork together through Microsoft Mesh.
The holographic Space provides a platform to interact with team members at the same time sharing the content securely. Recently Microsoft stated that with the Holoportation technology, users can appear in the Metaverse as themself rather than just Avatars.
Do we need any hardware or tools?
The interesting thing about Mesh Virtual reality is it can be accessed through various peripherals. The Hololens 2 from Microsoft is a perfect example. Even the Microsoft partners are working together in order to make the technology accessible for all the users in the world. The HP Reverb G2 already offers great support for Mesh.
Microsoft Mesh Collaboration
The Mesh Technology is capable of providing a creative world, interaction, real-life collaboration, with a scalable secure world. The Mesh also provides a platform for various companies to build and access applications that allow working together in a Holographic or 3D Project in real-life. Team members in the project can share and interact with each other with the digital content handling securely in the 3D Holographic platform achieving the same results as working in the physical world. The Mesh has the following features where users can:
- Animate the Avatars: The Avatars are used for the Holoportation of Realistic photo transformation in 3D. The platform allows users or employees to participate in 3D content sharing and engagement. Also, employees can access that content from Azure Directory to help find the necessary resources.
- Meetings: A meeting is a great place to share and present the findings of a project to all the members at the same time from anywhere in the world. Presenting data can be done with Hand-Tracking technology.
- Application Integration: The app integration is a great way to connect and present the data in the meetings. For instance, the presentation file can be accessed from the Microsoft Presentation and presented to the team. The team can navigate the document together in the virtual world making it happen in the real world. It has been claimed that third-party app integration is also possible in it.
- Utilizing Resource in the 3D: This is one of the great features where a company can utilize the resource in the digital world in order to design a prototype without wasting the resource in the real world. For instance, making a new car model, new office setup, warehouse planning, tools placement, etc. These all can be done in Microsft Mesh before testing in the real-world resource.
As the Microsoft Mesh technology is still in a growing phase, the full development of Mesh can change the world of how we are working right now. The need for productive employees for employers can be achieved from Mesh. The company can make quality products without wasting resources.
